Someone on the BN Forum said the following :- ” It was well past midnight on the last night at Nudefest. I was standing at the bar with Andrew when he launched his bold, but barren bid to convert the barmaids to the naturist cause. They were having none of it, but they gave quite in depth explanations of why not. What they said was interesting as these girls don’t have the usual misconceptions about naturism, as they’ve just spent a full week in the company of naturists at Nudefest.”
The poster then said it might aid future research by doing a survey asking females if they would consider naturism, and if not, why not?
My personal view is that Body Confidence/Body Image is the main reason i think that women do not tend to get into naturism.Over the last 30 years men seem to take more pride over their appearance and grooming but it pales into insignificance to the time an effort women go to just to be seen as “normal”…dressed.I live close to “The Sugar Hut ” in Brentwood which features in that “Only way is Essex” programme and the length that some young women go to is absolutely amazing. To me they look more like “dogs dinners” than real women, with their bleached hair and fake tans but this does transend into women of all ages when it comes to looking good or not.Over the years i’ve mentioned naturism to various women as being just normal and natural, many then say they’d like to try it and then they mention the word……BUT !
Many don’t want to be seen by anyone other than their partner, many worry what people will say if family or friends find out, then they go on to mention their weight, big bum or various other body parts.I think there are more naturist men simply because they don’t tend to worry about all the the things women do,men think of why they should do it, while women think why they shouldn’t.Ginny never thought about naturism until i mentioned it but now i think shes more at ease with her own Body Confidence/Body Image than before.
I think if more women got into naturism the more other women would too,if more women spoke up for naturism the more it would snowball into something more acceptable to women and less of and oddball pastime to do for either sex.
