Wintertime is the worst time for naturists, as the sun loses its warmth, the frost returns and days, weeks, even months turns life into a grey, damp misery time. This depressing thought tell you, that the summer has now long gone and that now clothes must be put back on and stay on, until the rays of spring return again in late march. Well that’s what most people would think ! As Jan & Roger Randall mention on their blog ” Do naturists hide away in Winter? Of course not ! If you thought that nudists only emerged during the long hot days of summer to soak up the sun, then think again ! Although it may seem that the cold weather is not conducive to the pursuit of naturist activities, there are plenty of opportunities to sample this natural lifestyle in winter ! ” http://blog.naturism-adriatic.com/en/
For the experienced naturist, there is the knowledge that many have had these feelings before and so have organised indoor events, to help ease the winter blues. Up and down the country swims are organised, club events too and until this year a ‘Alton Towers Splash weekend’ for the BN members was held 6 years running. We attend the Prested Hall swim regularly in Essex (http://www.prested.com/natswim.htm ) , but some of the most popular swims include the Noah’s Ark ( http://noahsark.jimdo.com/ ), Bedford and Alton (http://naturist-life-magazine.co.uk/alton-leisure-centre/ ) swims. Some of the swims are just swims, others have sauna and steam rooms, some have a gym and other activities and some even have restaurants, all of which can be used while you’re naked. It seems that a lot of businesses have cottoned on to the fact that the ‘naked pound’ is just a good and anyone else’s. There is of course the option of going abroad if you have enough money to do so. The Canary Islands is a good year round destination so is Southern Spain, both destinations have good naturist complexes available and are normally changed at a reduced rate, during the winter months. You can find information here http://naturistholidays.com/ . All in all the wintertime can still be an active time for naturists even if it is indoors and only once or twice a month, failing that you can also turn up the central heating at home and stay naked indoors.
