Back to the world of Naturism !
Even though the wintertime weather rules out most outside activities, there are events run by Clubs, Venues and also by the national naturist body in the UK,BN. Some of the events are small events but some are huge, the BN Alton Towers Splash Resort event is about as big as they get. When you mention Alton Towers most people say “isn’t it a bit cold to go on the rides naked in November ?” then you have to inform them that it takes place in the Splash Landings Hotel which includes a fantastic indoor water park.
The event takes place over the weekend which allows people to be naked from Friday evening till Sunday lunchtime and enjoy all the fantastic water slides. During the evening the restaurant is open and also the bar, in which on both evening’s entertainment is provided by BN, normally a band or entertainer.
There are three slides inside and a further two which are outside which are great for the circulation, the water is warm the air cold but even so it’s great fun. Great fun for adults and children alike. All in all it’s a great way to beat the winter blues. After a break in 2012 the latest adventure took place during the last weekend in November and apart from a faulty lift and someone setting off the fire alarm it went off without a hitch. We travelled up on the Friday morning and were one of the first to arrive at around 3.30pm.We spent most of Saturday in the waterpark and left at 10am on Sunday so we could visit Ladybower Reservoir in the Peak District.
Other indoor events include swims, but in the last year or two clothed Meet & Greets have started taking place across the country. These meet & greets are organised by individual naturists normally in pubs, maybe once a month, where likeminded people gather for a drink or two and discuss all the goings on in the naturist world. Sunday last we organised one such event which took place at short notice, so we were quite pleased when 7 people turned up. The Essex Naturists Meet & Greet will run on the first Sunday of every month hopefully at various venues to be decided. Anyone can attend young and old, seasoned naturists and those who are interested but have not yet taken the plunge, providing they have a genuine interest in naturism . We have leaflets about naturism which we can hand out at the meet & Greets to those who want to know more.
We’ve also created a website with more information and a twitter feed where event details will be posted
